Waldorf Blofeld Editor for TBMS

Tech Specs

Category: TB Midi Stuff Pages

Device: Blofeld

Type: Instrument Control

Format: iPad

Special Instructions

The editor file is free, and you are welcome to change it. Enjoy.

In brief, the best features of this app/template (in my opinion):

  • Scrollable Lists
  • Mostly bi-directional
  • Single page
  • New approach to layout design (grouping mod routings together etc)
  • Fast to use, seems stable, even with multitouch
  • Everything built and easily edited within the app - feel free to change it or add to it

The known limits:

  • It can't translate a sound dump from the Blofeld in it's current state, so it's for making -sounds from scratch

  • Osc 1&2 shapes are the only parameters not bi-directional

  • Some 'spacing' of lists is used to work around the sysex sharing for some parameters (see 2:30 in video)
  • Minimal inclusions for arp and effects, as I (the creator) don't use these so much
  • Could seem a bit cramped if you have big fingers

Hope it helps make some new sounds :)

Hey guys - good point, just tried fresh and it's not really so obvious how to get it going...!
To get the file, I would either unzip on a computer and email it to myself (so you can open it on the ipad) or come to this page on the ipad and click this direct link:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4461887/Blofeld%20Editor.tbms
Here's a specific step by step:
1. Open TB Midi stuff on your iPad fresh, so it's blank with no page loaded (close and open again if it's not blank)
2. Go to the file (in the email app on your ipad or by the link above in the safari app on your ipad) and choose the option 'open in TB Midi stuff' or 'copy to TB midi stuff'
3. Hopefully it opens in the app!
4. Now to save it: touch the magnifying glass symbol, then the little 'i' symbol to name and save it. I put it in the category 'instruments'
5. Now you can double tap the page to go back and start tweaking!
If you want to load it again, you should be able to find it by:
1. Touching the + symbol
2. Going to the 'instrument' list under the 'Canvas Snapshots Library'
Hope this helps
Adam :)

Ok so the link I posted above didn't link - if you want to use it, just copy and paste into the address bar in safari on the ipad and hit 'go'. It might take a few seconds.

I did it without a computer by saving & unzipping the template in FileExplorer free as a local file. After unzipping pen the template in FileExplorer, it will be recognised as a TB Midi Stuff File. Then save template in TB Midi Stuff. Done.
