Released in 1988, this unit was released just 2 years after his brother: the renowned Yamaha SPX90. They are very similar and share the same audio quality:

The SPX50D have more programs featuring reverb, some of them match almost perfectly the SPX90's presets, others can be modified to match them (they are not the same, but very similar).

All the rest contain delay, pitch shift, compression, distortion and modulation and cannot be captured very well with impulse capture.

All the files are in Stereo Wav 24 bit 48 KHz, you can load them in you favorite convolver and use them straight away.
