TraktOSC - a simple but deep controller for Traktor

Tech Specs

Category: TouchOsc Templates

Device: Traktor

Type: DJ Tool

Format: iPad

Hello!

I purchased TouchOSC a few weeks ago and was extremely impressed by what it could do. I bought it to use with Traktor but (probably because I have an iPad Mini and fat fingers) I found the included Jog-On layout a little fiddly… so I made my own: TraktOSC!

I used tabs to hide certain control sets in their own pages, and make the whole layout a little less cluttered and a bit more context sensitive. The zip file above also includes a Traktor control map that sets up all the functionality (you can learn how to set up TouchOSC with Traktor here).

NOTE: the FX page is designed to work with the pre-programmed effects in the control map. If you don’t like them, you can easily swap in your own favorites. I left (most of) the buttons below the touch pads empty so you could map your own functions to them. For example: you could link them to modifiers in Traktor to quickly swap the functionality of the pads and use them for multiple FX…

I’m sure this layout won’t be to everyone’s tastes, as I made it for the somewhat simplistic way that I like to DJ… Please feel to post and let me know if you like it… or if you don’t, then let me know how it could be improved! :)

Cheers, Dan

Hi
Dan
I need some help here. I just want to make a simple interface to control some keyswitches in a Kontakt 5 lib. So I made the layout and assigned 2 buttons to transmit midi note C0 but the first with the vel. 0 - 63 and the second with vel. 64-127. I have synced the layout and it is on my iPad, and the iPad is recognized because the LogicPad is working allrigt. Well mine is not ;-( When I press the button on my own layout nothing happens, so I imagine that the 2 midi notes is NOT transmitted.
I have seen all the Youtube tutorials, but to no use.
Maybe you have an advice?
Thanks!
Regards Stig in Denmark
