The Mopho is a powerful analog synth designed by pioneering sound engineer and musician Dave Smith. Over the years, this synth has gained widespread popularity because it’s the most affordable way to attain one of Smith’s phenomenal synthesizers. At 7.5"x5", it might not look like much, but the Mopho produces massive, compelling sounds. Featuring a 100% analog signal path with two oscillators, Mopho includes a Curtis Filter, envelope generators, analog VCAs, and sub-octave generators. Essentially, the Mopho is a small, simplified version of the seminal Prophet synth.
The onboard sub-octave generators impart users gut-punching bass composition abilities, and the Mopho’s audio input processes external sounds in live and recording settings and lets you add feedback. This synth can also be played with MIDI controllers and external sequencers. Can it produce arpeggios? Heck yeah, it can. It’s also packed with features like a 16 x 4 step sequencer, assignable performance controls, and a front panel that’s completely programmable. This might be a small unit, but it packs an incredible punch and will add an incredible array of analog sounds for DJs, composers, and producers of every stripe and musical interest.
